Materials manufacturer Saint-Gobain plans to inject $400 million into four of its US manufacturing sites over the next four years to increase its capacity for roofing products, insulation, and gypsum. The company said in a release Wednesday that the initiative aligns with its strategic plan to increase its growth in the North American market.

When the project is completed, the facilities will also produce over 50% less waste and reduce their CO2 emissions by 20%.

“These new capacities will apply the best available in terms of industrial performance, safety, and respect for the environment,” the company’s announcement stated.

The facilities are located in the southeastern US and California.

Saint-Gobain’s subsidiary CertainTeed started operations at its new production facility for the STONEfacade stone veneer system in Quakertown, PA this July.
